People are getting together and planning out their new year's event. Speaking about the good & bad times of 2010 rather it be personal memories, events that has happen in the neighborhood, city, state, country....the world. The news, the arts, the failures, the successes of such.

.....I'm going thru folders of beats, tracks, mixes, everything that is digital piece to a form of music. The process of putting together an attack-like string of project releases. Somewhere in that process "SoultapeLvL6: Tape Noise(beat-tape)" came about.
LvL6 has my underground hard snares, hard kicks, gritty sample sound. There is a certain that I'm mixing it...trying to give it that legit "beats played from a tape" sound without crashing the the total quality. It has been working out great to be honest. I'm banking on releasing this near the end of January..

1/01/11....I finally release my "DontSayIDidntWarnU" project...then the attack of beat-tapes will go into effect.

Artwork: "Don't Say I Didn't Warn U" Project

7:08AM...
My arm has been hurting for the pass week (muscle disorder)...at least I'm getting stuff done. Almost done w/ my 1st vocal/rap project.
I can say one thing, if you don't like my flow...well at least the beats are banging.

These are my best works in production. I've held on to maybe about...umm...70% of them for a few months and the other 30% are recent productions. I finished the cover art above a few hours ago. After that I knocked out a beat which will be turned into the 1st single as well the 1st track at the beginning of the project.

I've finally decided to stick with the "Don't Say I Didn't Warn U" title. It fits the work I've done so far. I just hope it's accepted well and that someone enjoys it.

About to see if I can finally fall asleep. Btw...any suggestions on new blogs to visit? I'm way out of touch and I need to reach out and politic with more fellow music heads.

I have a habit of making graphix on the spot of an idea....sometimes it works out...other times...well whatever.
I have a folder of beats on my hard-drive that I've been sitting on for awhile. Trying to figure out what to do with them. These certain beats have a Dilla-inspired feeling. One or two of them might make my vocal project. The rest will go to a beat-tape project that came from the idea of this cover I made last week. A full beat-tape laced up w/ a J-Dilla inspired sound and feel. When I will release it is the part I'm not sure of. Maybe when I build a decent internet buzz I suppose.



On segahamilton.blogspot.com, Charles Hamilton posted that he needed a cover for his "Sonic The Hamilton 2: HD" project so I came up with this cover art for it. Apparently some one else had the same idea far as image....and turning the image black&white...and he picked their's instead. Still...here's mine for those who may want to use it if you dig Hamilton's music.

Artwork: "Accept My Sound" Cover Art

Here's the cover art that I knocked out for P.A. ...I think it came out clean compared to my previous cover arts. The pic was took from the set of photos done by Karin Burton , click the link to see more of her work. Even with P.A.'s "lack of personality" facial expressions, the shoot still came out great.

We're about 1-2 songs away from closing up the project. We kinda want that one more banger before we decide it's finish. Compared to the last project we did...there is no comparison. It's pure hip-hop...the lyrical ability, the content...the production of course lol. It finally sounds like we have our own sound as a collective.

May 28th will be the release.
Shout out to Kid Nice at undergroundcharizma.com for posting the 1st track leak. All we've gotten back is good feedback from the 1st track. Everyone who's heard it have said great things about it. Good...being that I don't consider the song as one of the better or best tracks. No fillers...at all.

Sometime between tonight or tomorrow, I'm going to re-do the blog...plan on going on a blogging rampage soon.

Music Updates....

Been gone alittle bit from the blog, had a few things to deal with over the weekend but all is well and better. P.A./Gambitt project is coming nearly to being finish, you can almost feel it in the air.....ok that was a bit far but whatever. Beat wise it maybe 75%-80% done, I'mma prepare two more beats to an good guess of 8 that we already have between both P.A. and myself. It maybe more than 8 actually but I'm just guessing. The release date is still 9/11/09 and P.A. has already done a bit of recording. So pretty much, so far so good and the experience in making this project has been great. Like P.A. said, we kinda brought the best out of each other while making this project. He's stepped up far as production and so have I. Hope to have some more previews soon as we get some of the tracks mixed down.

Just finished a instrumental for Precyse (what up, cuz) that was way over due and I got to make Joe Cool (where u @ my dude?)his project cover that looks a bit like this...

...which hopefully I can get ol'boy an exclusive beat for it. Along with one or two that maybe on there already from the "SoultapeLvl1" beat project.

In between taking small breaks from me and P.A.'s project I been sending Justin (Justin Allen) instrumentals and he's has blessed all of them. So I wouldn't be too surprised if you saw the Justin Allen/Gambitt project released quickly after P.A.'s project with myself. I told ya'll it was gonna be an active summer. Now that I got my official team. So once again...

Concept Cover/Brief Updates

What up ya'll? Been a pretty boring week far as having things to blog about.
But I did finish an concept cover for the Soultape project. Opinions?

I do "aiight" with Paint Shop Pro 11 but if anyone feels they can make something better....go nuts!

Still building the project up. Its taking longer than what I thought it would. Reason why?...ummm, 1st impressions I think. I want this to be as my grand opening to my musical world. So far the project has went from being 80% done to 40% done back up towards 65/70% done. Because some of the instrumentals that I originally made doesn't fit the project....not enough soul lol...nah really, I felt it didn't have the key element of this project which is soul. Even dug into some of my old beats, EQ'd them and they sound nice enough to be apart of the Soultapes series.

Future Projects...
Gambitt - SoultapeLvL?:Gumbo
The ? is because I don't know what level I will reach to honor that title. Soultape "Gumbo" will be to me as "Donuts" is to Dilla.

I really want to do this for him. I think I can give him some epic isntrumentals that he could zone into.

...oh and someone asked what does the LvL1 stand for in the "SoultapesLvL1" title.
LvL1=Level 1...instead of the usual Pt.1, Vol.1,Chapter.1,etc. Mainly because with each project there will be an upgrade. I'm always learning.

Digging thru my graphix archives and I found this. My close friend and arch nemesis, Jaime.
Why she all that? Well, just tried to murder me once. Chill, it was only once.
Ok, that didn't sound any better but she meant well. Sometime crazy people only understand crazy people....and we're both 4 aces short of a deck of cards. We had a lot miscommunication and we both were going thru tuff stages of our lives. So we kinda took it out on each other. I kicked her out and she tried to murk me. Fair exchange...

Her trying to murk me is her trying to kill something that she doesn't want inside her....her love for me. As friends were tight, but more than that....nah we good, we just not made for that level. She doesn't want me and I don't want her. But, I value her friendship and we politic on real shit. Our conversation is pass average mind thinking....more like mind bending and I haven't had that with anyone else......until Ayana recently made an appearance in my life.
Can't front, if Ayana didn't pop up, I might be rethinking the whole "just best friends" title again.

Late Night Graphic Work

It is now 6:37am...still haven't went to sleep. What in the fuck am I doing making covers for music projects this late/this early? Music got me in the zone. That and I got alot on my mind and this helps. What ya'll think?


Did this for Charles Hamilton's project "At Most I'm Just..." sence it didn't come with a cover. If your a go-hard music lover like I am, I like having a total package. So when I upload my music to the PS3,Zune,etc...I have visual for the sound.
Maybe I'm just too picky....fuck it, its almost 7am. Time to...:::yawn::: man, bye lol

Artwork:Dead Zone

That man Charles Hamilton put out another project this morning. The cover is...lets say its just not attractive. And I seen some other covers that people was doing. I'm not hating but they weren't all that clean. So I came up with just joint being its my day off and not really much to do.

Might blog more later. I'm in a real uncomfortable zone today. I'm making plans on moving, very possible to be North Carolina. If my homegirl gives me the go to come down by next week and move in May, that's what it is. If not....I might roll back to Louisiana. I just no that I no longer can stay in Manassas,VA. I will die here if I don't. Nothing bad is going on other than whats in my head and I can't articulate it in words to explain it but I really need to leave and soon. I'm ok but I must leave from here.
